Who we are

A core grown from years of work in the field

LëtzHelp starts from that simple truth. It is the long-standing core that carries the humanitarian aid and direct field action of Nova Lëtzebuerg asbl.

Just as the heavy elements forged in a supernova seed a new world, LëtzHelp reaches the lives of people in need directly — with years of field experience and accumulated human values.

Like the first light that scatters the dark, we keep showing up wherever there is a need.

Core field focus

Our work in the field, in four areas

Each area is not a promise but a job we do again and again.

01

Urgent, direct humanitarian aid

Getting food, clothing and essentials where they are needed fastest — in a crisis and in everyday hardship.

02

Lasting field projects

Water wells, school materials and sustainable livelihood support, built with local and international partners.

03

Community solidarity

From a shared bowl of hot soup to support for homeless and disadvantaged people — steady local action that strengthens the ties around us.

04

Volunteer-driven action

Taking goodness out of theory and into practice, through a network of volunteers who show up in person.

How we work

From a donation to help in hand, in three steps

Shortening the distance and the cost in between is half our work.

  1. 1

    Listen and verify

We identify need on the ground, through our volunteers and local partners — never second-hand.

  2. 2

    Match the resource

We match each donation to the right need, cutting out as many middle steps and costs as we can.

  3. 3

    Deliver and show

We hand the support over in person, then share the record and the result with the donor.

Our campaigns

First campaign

Today we handed over hand-knitted hats to the association Stëmm vun der Strooss. These hats were knitted with a lot of love by our volunteers. We also handed over hats and gloves bought with donations. A big thank you to everyone who knitted, donated and supported this act of solidarity. Together, we bring a little warmth and hope ♥️

Second campaign

Together with the Red Cross and a university student association, we gave personalised gifts to the children at the Red Cross camp in Bettembourg.

Partner: Croix-Rouge luxembourgeoise · Conscious and Cultural Student Association

Third campaign

A bridge from heart to heart: Aşure Day and neighbourly ties

The aşure distribution we held at Stëmm vun der Strooss turned into a deeply meaningful and warm gathering that brought together people from all walks of our society. Aşure (Noah’s Pudding) is one of the most beautiful things our traditions and culture have to share. This sweet tradition, which has come down to us from Noah’s Ark, tells how the last remaining ingredients came together to make a wonderful dish. Just as the different ingredients in aşure come together to create a unique taste, people from different cultures and backgrounds coming together enriches our society.

Fourth campaign

Knitting workshop: hats, scarves and more

Together with Cohésion asbl, we are running a knitting workshop in Strassen. Everyone is welcome, even if you can’t knit: all materials are provided, and we learn and share together over a coffee. What we make will go to people in hardship. Dates: 1, 15 and 29 October, 15 and 19 November, 1–3 pm Venue: Cohésion, 148 route d’Arlon, 8010 Strassen On 26 November we will hand over what we have made, together, to Stëmm vun der Strooss.

School kits for 100 children

School kits for 100 children living in reception centres in Belgium were prepared and delivered together with Time to Help Belgium: backpack, pencil case and supplies, water bottle, lunch box and notebooks. The kits reached the children through Fedasil before the school year started.

New clothes at the orphanage

Almost 7,000 kilometres lie between Luxembourg and Nepal; but when a child laughs, that distance suddenly becomes very small. Shortly before the school year, we handed new clothes to the children at the orphanage.

FAQ

Questions we get often

Where does my donation go?

Donations go to the field programmes that are open at the time. If there is an urgent crisis, that comes first; otherwise they feed the regular food, clothing and education support.

Do you accept in-kind donations?

Yes — food, seasonal clothing, school supplies and hygiene products. Write to us before you drop anything off and we will tell you what is needed right now.

What does it take to volunteer?

No experience and no special skill. Just tell us how much time you can give and we will invite you to work that fits.

Are LëtzHelp and Nova Lëtzebuerg asbl the same thing?

LëtzHelp is the humanitarian and field-work core inside Nova Lëtzebuerg asbl. Legally, donations and activities run under the association.

Cataract Project

Cataract takes away sight, little by little.

Because of it, many people in Mali and Nepal can no longer work, can no longer make out their child’s face, can no longer find their way home. Yet the solution is simple: a 15-minute operation.

A cataract operation costs €120. In other words, for the price of a dinner out, someone’s life can be filled with light again.

As LëtzHelp Luxembourg and Time to Help Belgium, we have come together for cataract patients in Mali and Nepal. You too can share in an operation, or in part of one. Every amount you give makes it possible for someone to see again.

Urgent appeal

Time to stand together: bringing hope to Karamoja!

In Uganda’s Karamoja region, extreme drought and harsh climate conditions have caused a severe food crisis. Around half a million people, above all children and women, are struggling to get urgent food and clean water.

But we are not powerless! Every donation and every helping hand can change this picture. As a volunteer team, we are coming together to strengthen the emergency food and water support on the ground. When we act together, no obstacle is too great. Let’s unite our energy and our belief to carry hope to Karamoja!

Additional information (field data)

Situation in the region: Around 473,000 people in Karamoja are facing an acute food security crisis.

Priority needs:

  • Food parcels
  • Nutrition treatment (especially for children under 5)
  • Emergency clean water
